tisdag Max4-laboratoriet som nu byggs utanför Lund skapar tillväxt genom att tilldela 20 industriföretag ett ramavtal avseende mekanisk tillverkning. Hela 16 av företagen är svenska industriföretag och de flesta finns i Skåne. Innovation Systems (Vin nova), Lund University and Region Skåne, defining the start of the MAX IV project. These stakeholders represent a large frac-tion of the first phase investment costs and asked that the Swedish Research Council initiated an additional evaluation of the modified design for MAX IV. MAX IV-synkrotronen er en del af Lunds Universitet og udstyres med en dansk målestation, der forventes åbnet i 2019. Den danske målestation vil i praksis giver direkte adgang for danske forskere og virksomheder til alle målestationer på MAX IV. ESS står klar til forsøg i 2023, mens MAX IV blev indviet i sommeren 2016.

Its design and planning has been carried out within the Swedish national laboratory, MAX-lab, which up until 2015 operated three accelerators for synchrotron radiation research: MAX I (550 MeV, opened 1986), MAX II (1,5 GeV, opened 1997) and MAX III (700 MeV, opened 2008). The MAX4 Imagers is a collaboration between researchers from the Capital Region hospitals and the newly opened synchrotron, MAX IV in Lund, Sweden, which has opened up for the possibility to make the Capital Region hospitals world-leading in the pre- and clinical use of X-ray imaging with never-seen-before image resolution. MAX-lab, Lund University and the City of Lund, as well as a selection of scientific seminars by the MAX-lab user community.
